Merja Metsä-Heikkilä

On retirement starting 1.4.2023.

I have extensive expertise in infertility treatments, contraception, menopausal hormone therapy, and sex therapy. My specialty is gynaecological endocrinology, meaning that I diagnose and treat illnesses potentially caused by hormone excess or deficiency.

In addition to the insertion and removal of intrauterine devices and contraceptive implants, I perform prenatal ultrasounds up to week 12. I have completed my doctoral thesis on breast cancer and oestrogen and antioestrogen therapy.
